What
makes Camp Coyote Crossing unique?
-
You bring
your own horse. This camp is designed to make you & your horse perform
as one—to achieve unity, to be a team, to bond, to understand, love &
respect each other. (For a beginning rider, who has NO horse, we can
possibly furnish a lesson horse, but this is on a very limited basis.)
-
Your camp is totally individualized. You set your goals for the week
in advance, then we work on what you & your horse need to do to achieve
those goals, whether it be horsemanship, ground manners, trail
obstacles, timed events, playday events, English Hunt Seat classes,
jumping, trail riding……… Our goal is to help you achieve your goals.
-
Camp attendance is limited to a maximum of five people at a time, &
it can be as few as one, so there is a great deal of hands-on
instruction. Parents and children can attend camp together or
separately.
-
The English & Western instructors will ride, correct, teach, or train
your horse as needed and requested. It is often helpful to send the
horse for training a week or so before camp to make camp the most
beneficial experience for horse & rider.
-
You determine the length of your camp, start & completion days,
within reason, and on a first-come, first-served basis. Camp can be over
a long weekend, for a full week or over part of a week plus a horse show
or rodeo.) Often friends or siblings attend camp together.
-
Campers spend 4-6 hours horseback EVERY camp day. In addition, they
help with feeding horses, grooming, bathing them & cleaning tack.
-
When there are problems/issues with horses, trainers use a holistic
approach, including tack/bit changes for optimum performance.
