They are listed
below from
the oldest to the youngest.
Candy Bell Rose (Chula),
2001 bay mare AQHA #4077186, whose 4-generation pedigree includes
Colonel Freckles, Doc Bar, Doc’s Lynx and Poco Enterprize. As her
bloodline shows, Chula was born to work cattle. She’s been used in
auction barns and for cattle sorting and team penning. Chula has none of
the undesirable “mare” traits; she’s not Alpha; she’s not hateful. She’s
a pleasure to do any type of cattle work on. She doesn’t buck; she’s
short and stout; and several children have ridden her. She’s ready to compete for you in cattle sorting
and team penning.
Cowboys April
Dream (April) AQHA
#4289005, is a 2002 chestnut mare who has Coys Bonanza, Maddens Bright
Eyes, Cowboys Dream, and Sure Cash on her pedigree. April is a smart,
quick mare, who is now being seasoned on barrel racing and pole bending.
She has also been worked sorting cattle and team penning and is great on
trails. Almost anyone can ride April. She doesn’t buck or shy. Her size,
speed, and athletic ability would make her a GREAT calf roping horse.
April is very laid-back, but she is fast if you ask for it. April has
been shown in cloverleaf barrels and pole bending. She also knows the
figure 8 barrel & stake race patterns. Because she is short with short
strides, her best event is pole bending. She is quite automatic on the
patterns, but she must be kept in condition in order to make good runs.
Exercising her at the long trot, canter and hand gallop is necessary.
April runs best for an aggressive rider, who will stay out of her mouth
and trust her, since she is a push horse, who just needs to be driven.
Spotlite Dream
(Spotlite) AQHA
#4413563, is a 2003 brown gelding with tons of chrome. He has Coys
Bonanza, Maddens Bright Eyes, Cowboys Dream, and Jet Deck on his
pedigree. He is tall, with sweeping long strides, yet he can stop and
turn on a dime. Spotlite has smooth gaits and has been ridden both
English and Western. He’s just being shown the barrel and pole patterns.
He would make an excellent reiner.
Bettermaythannever (Maybe) AQHA #4775615, is a 2005
Buckskin stallion. Maybe’s 4-generation pedigree includes Doc O Glo, Doc
O’Lena, Doc Bar, Colonel Freckles, Mr Jet Moore and Gray Badger III.
Maybe has spent 90 days in training with Olan Hightower (who trained and
showed Colonel Freckles). Olan concentrated on Maybe's gaits, handle,
roll backs, spins, and on working with cattle. Maybe has been shown in
cattle sorting and will make an excellent sorting or team penning horse.
We currently have two 2009 and one 2010 colt by Maybe -- a bay gelding
out of a sorrel mare, a bay paint filly out of a bay paint mare, and a
dun filly with lots of chrome out of a black mare.
His sire Dunthruplayin has won money in cutting and barrel racing.
One
Blue Eyed MaTaTa ( MaTaTa or Toddy)
A 2007 buckskin mare with lots of chrome and of course, one blue eye.
She’s out of Colonel Roaster (Smokey), a gray stallion we sold a few
years back, and our black mare Inquisitive Bonanza (Quiz). She has
Colonel Freckles, Doc Quixote, Doc Bar, Coys Bonanza, and Jet Deck in
her lineage. Her blue eye goes WAY back to Maddens Bright Eyes, a
successful racing quarter horse mare who also had one blue eye. Toddy is
a tall, leggy mare with a great disposition. She’s not Alpha or
aggressive, content being lower in the pecking order. Joel Atkinson
worked Toddy for 60 days, concentrating on walk, trot, canter, leads,
stop, working off her hocks, roll backs, simple spins, and tracking and
heading cattle. Joel also exposed her to roping and dragging cattle. We
are currently teaching Toddy the cloverleaf barrel and pole patterns.
She’s a very willing learner and well-coordinated for her height. When
mature, Toddy will make a large, strong mare with plenty of speed.
Smokey Foxy Roxy (Foxy)
A 2008 gray mare with lots of chrome. She is the last colt we raised out
of Smokey, before selling him. She’s a beautiful dapple gray. Her dam is
April (information above). Like both her parents, Foxy is short and
stout, but extremely well-built and athletic. She’s VERY gentle, not
aggressive or Alpha, and loves attention from people. Foxy will be
started under saddle in the fall of 2010.
We also have younger horses
for sale, but we are not actively promoting them at this time.
Come see us, and we’ll show you ALL our horses!
